Having carefully read your typescript and synopsis, I will contact you again, suggesting a 30-40 minute discussion on Zoom to discuss your work in progress.
This will include a detailed report, offering considerable feedback, in the case of a novel, the basic components of the plot; together with the all-important subjects of character development and dialogue. Other important items for discussion, will also include the emotional context, pace, tension and much more.
Also, because I’m a great believer in the importance of the first chapter, I’ll be paying special attention to the first scene – which is so often crucial for setting the whole tone of the book.
In the case of non-fiction, I will be concentrating on basic grammar and the use of language; the arrangement and layout of the material and, frankly, the readability of the material. Because, while you may be dealing, in the main, with facts – I can see no reason why your book should not be “a good read”; both for the layman as well as the expert.
